A credit note is issued when an invoice has already been created but, for some reason, it is necessary to reduce part of the final invoice amount (e.g., the guest is dissatisfied with the service, has overpaid, etc.). A credit note always includes the reference number of the original invoice.

Methods for Creating a Credit Note:

  1. On the reservation under Documents

  2. Among previously issued invoices in the Invoices interface

  3. An independent credit note not linked to any document or reservation in the Invoices interface

When creating a credit note, it is necessary to define the details of the item for which the credit note is being issued:

  • Billing Information (if issued directly on an already issued invoice, the system automatically retrieves the payer's details)

  • Tax

  • Payment Method & Type

  • Sales Group

  • Cost Center

  • Fiscalization of the credit note (fiscalization is not required for transactional payment method)

A prerequisite for issuing a credit note is the configuration of a sales group in the property settings.

The credit note follows the invoice numbering sequence, is included in outgoing invoices (just like the cancellation of a credit note), and is recorded in reports for the period in which it was issued. A credit note can be cancelled in the usual manner.

The credit note document is recorded in the cash register at the moment of creation, just like all other invoices, and is displayed according to the payment method.
