Closed room status on Booking.com

Check how to set the status of your room(s) to open

Written by Jasmina Petani

In cases when the channel shows that the Room status is closed (in red), and especially if this option was set manually on the Booking Extranet before, it is necessary to adjust this before connecting to the channel manager. You can check this on your Extranet calendar.

Rentlio channel manager controls only the number of rooms you want to sell, but your room status cannot be controlled by Rentlio.

If you can't edit the status ("Not allowed to edit closed" or "Not allowed to edit hidden" message)

This message means Rentlio is currently set as your active connectivity provider on Booking.com, which prevents you from manually editing the room status directly in the Extranet. In this case you'll need to:

  1. Temporarily disconnect Rentlio as your connectivity provider in the Booking Extranet: Account → Connectivity provider → Disconnect (or Switch providers)

  2. Manually set the room status to Open in the Extranet

  3. Reconnect Rentlio as your connectivity provider

For the disconnect/reconnect steps, see Disconnecting Booking.com from Rentlio channel manager.

For example:

On your Booking Extranet it is necessary to open all rooms for a certain date or period, (preferably until the date availability is added, or you wish to add in Rentlio, but longer than that is even better) by selecting Rates & Availability > Open/close rooms > select the correct period and choose to open the room status:

Check rate planes too if needed:

After this, your rooms' status will be bookable (in green) on your Booking Extranet:
