Users are given the possibility of having multiple means of payment for the direct web reservations.

Those possibilities are:

  • Credit card as a guarantee

  • Bank transfer

  • Payment gateway charging

By selecting the first option, the user will have access to the guest’s credit card details within the booking settings. In order to retrieve credit card details, you are obliged to insert your Rentlio password and a 6-digit PIN (which you have set in your account settings).

Having retrieved the credit card details, you can charge the amount via your POS device.

In case you have given your guests the option to pay the reservation via bank transfer, such reservation will have the status as “OPTION” and will be shaded on the calendar to be distinguished from the confirmed reservations. This will alert you to keep track of your bank payments.

The third way of charging a reservation offered within the application is through one of the Online Payment Gateways.*

In order to charge the card via Payment Gateway, you need to go to the destination folio and on the bottom of the page click on “Charge credit card”.

Insert the amount you need to charge and the balance changes accordingly. The system generates the invoice for the amount you have charged, and it can be cancelled if necessary.**

*Before activating the integration with Rentlio you need to have a profile on the chosen Payment Gateway

** the cancellation of the invoice does not automatically refund the amount to the guest’s card, it needs to be issued on the Payment Gateway interface
