Upgrading to a higher room category is a common tool in the hotel industry and can help increase guest satisfaction and improve the overall impression of the hotel.
To use the Upgrade option in Rentlio, you first need to enable it in the settings and assign a rank to each unit type.
Starting from 1, rank the unit types from the lowest to the highest category.
In the example below, the lowest room category is Single Room, and the highest category is Suite:
If two unit types have similar characteristics, you can assign them the same rank. In the example below, Comfort Double Room and Superior Room are of similar category, so both are assigned rank 2:
Where can you see if a reservation has been upgraded or downgraded?
This information is visible on the reservation itself, in the Unit Type field.
Depending on the label, the reservation has been upgraded, downgraded, or remains in its originally booked unit type.
Upgrade
Downgrade
No status, the reservation is in its originally booked unit type
When a reservation is moved on the calendar, the label will automatically update depending on whether the reservation has been moved to a higher or lower room category. However, the label can also be manually edited if needed.
In addition to the individual reservation, upgrade information can also be found in the reservation list. Next to the unit name there will be the corresponding label depending on the changes made to the reservation.
